I have been check out a lot of Explosm.net a lot, Something saki put me on to. Anyway, the comic above had me rolling. It gave me flashbacks to my wonder years. Back when I was a little grim, I used to hang at my boy Jerry’s house a lot. We used to drink quite a lot of “Poisonberry” juice. I always thought it was a old name for a juice to be called, until of course I found out it was called Boysenous Berry juice. What can I say, I was a simple child.
So I was listening to my morning “Buzz Out Loud” podcast and they put me on to this video. It’s the top ten ways the world could end. After seeing the video I both amused and scared shitless. On one hand, it’s funny how all of the top ten has had a movie made of it. On the other, It scary as hell to think how easy it would be for the world to end as we know it. Makes you wonder how long before the Zombie Apocalypse.

Saw the much hyped Cloverfield this weekend. While I didn’t love it, it was a ok time. One thing I thought when watching it, I couldn’t help but think of the as the US Godzilla redone with some Blair Witch thrown in for good measure. Parts of the Monster’s actions, mirrored what Godzilla did in this movie. ::Spoilers:: In Cloverfield, Little Monsters falling off on the bigger monsters head and attacking people. In Godzilla, the Monster plans eggs, which hatch and attack people. Different delivery method. Same result. ::End Spoilers::. There are a bunch more problems that I have with the movie but the video review by James Rolfe above pretty much sums up my thoughts on it. If you really want to enjoy this movie, Don’t think about the story or plot. It doesn’t really have one. Just take it a big monster movie and nothing else. Also I would recommend you wait till it hits video, I believe seeing it on the smaller screen would enhance it. So not evil, Just not great.

Over at the Zombie Reporting Center, they just posted the new “Day of the Dead” trailer. While this trailer is a improvement over the last one, that isn’t saying much. To be honest it doesn’t look so bad, just not worthily of it’s name It’s a shame Zack Snyder didn’t direct this movie. He did a hell of a job updating “Dawn of the Dead”. Anyway, I will be netflixing it, maybe it will be good but somehow I don’t think so.

Being a huge a Zombie fan, When I heard the father of the Zombie, George Romero was making a new movie. I was more than a little excited. The basic plot is a bunch of student, while making a horror film run into the undead. From what I understand it’s supposed to happen at the same time as Night of the living dead but after watching the trailer. It seems like current times. So that is a bit confusing. Oh well, the movie is releasing something next month. Oh yeah!

When I was a kid, I loved the movie Alien. So my mother decided to buy me the alien toy shown above. When she first gave it to me, I was so siked. I loved it to death, that was until night came. Little did I know that the head glowed in the dark. I found out this fact in the middle of the night. It scared the crap out of me. So I grab it and pulled it’s tongue out. Yeah I was a silly kid, if I had only kept that toy. Seeing it again, it’s pretty kick ass…. Sigh…

saki and I have been watching the hell out of Law and Order Criminal Intent lately. Overall the series has been great, though this season has been a bit weak. I started thinking if this season was weak, what if the writer don’t come back from strike. Can Law and Order surive without writer? Look at the video above and you be the judge. Over the Christmas break I saw the movie “Juno”. While I didn’t fall in love with it, it was quite entertaining. One thing that did stand out was the intro. Like Jason Reitman’s other movie “Thank you for smoking” it set the tone of the movie nicely. You can see the Title Sequence of that movie after the break.
